An interesting programme had been planned based on this year’s theme ”Penetrating a communicative world". The programme included a presentation on the European standard EN 15038 for translation services by Sara Gangelhof from Xplanation Denmark. Xplanation was certified in accordance with the standard in 2008, and the presentation covered how this standard is used within the company and what effect this has had on the translation services. The presentation was positively received by the listeners and was followed by an interesting discussion on the subject.

During the rest of the day at the forum Xplanation was represented, as usual, with a stand which was visited by many participants who had the opportunity to discuss translation, communication and languages in general, and hear about Xplanation’s translation services. Furthermore, Xplanation ran a competition at the stand where participants had to guess the language of a single sentence and suggest a translation. The winner of the competition was Anne-Marie Colliander Lind from Common Sense Advisory who guessed that the language was Romanian and that it said “We Care About Your Words”.

Xplanation’s representatives all thought that it was an interesting and insightful day, and were happy to be able to inform both clients and colleagues within the translation industry about the standard EN 15038.
